Chef Jojo 30A: Bach Weekend, But Make It Gourmet

So… Chef Jojo’s bachelorette service in 30A? Yeah, it’s basically the definition of iconic. Like a little bit of fairytale, reality show, and just enough sparkle to make it unforgettable.

Bach weekend? I’ve got you covered! From bougie brunches to plated dinners, I’ve hosted it all. And, obviously, I always go full main character for every bride, because she only has one weekend where it’s truly only about her. I try to get all the little details that matter, working with the coolest vendors. I can’t do this stuff alone! I love using other female owned businesses, and the decorating companies are the best! Adding the little touches, and pops of color every girl needs to feel special, and I try to match the vibe! Picture this: fluffy pancakes stacked like Jenga, avocado toast so pretty it could totally get its own Pinterest board, and mimosas. Then you add in some creativity, painting with your besties while sipping bubbles. Boom, you’ve got magic. And for the bride-to-be who’s ready to level up her wifey skills? A hands-on cooking class is basically the perfect “OMG this is actually happening” moment.

How to Host a Weekend in 30A with Chef Jojo & her favorite Vendors:

Day 1: Arrival

Traveling is never easy, and sometimes it doesn’t go as planned! On your first day some of the group may be arriving at scattered times, so whats better than having food at the house, with a bonfire going at the beach. Everyone meets at the fire to kick off an epic weekend! I work with several different companies, but my favorite company to work with is It’s Lit PCB Bonfires (they are in 30A too don’t worry!)

Seafood Sunset: Cue the Bonfire

Dinner meant one thing: Bonfire & Buffet ON THE BEACH. Imagine buttery crab, Gulf shrimp, sausage, corn, key lime pie. Or a fiesta? Or Charcuterie Board  or maybe you are more of a sushi or caribbean luau sort of gal and we love that for you too! You can enjoy this at your home or you can have your dinner toes in the sand under the stars with the tikki torches and bonfire. Add cornhole, s’mores kits, and sunset views, finish under the stars singing with your besties, and you’ve basically unlocked the bach-weekend cheat code.

Brunch Goals: Pancakes, Pajamas, & Pinterest Worthy Toast

Kick off the weekend with a Build Your Own Brunch: stacks of blueberry pancakes, avocado toast prettier than half of Pinterest, and a mimosa bar that kept the morning bubbly. With besties in matching pajamas and fresh coffee brewing, it felt like a sleepover glow-up. Have this ready by 10 am so you can make it out for the day's activities!  I would advise to do the following on the first day following your brunch:

  1. Pool Day - Enjoy a day getting settled in at the house with the first day, (having the fridge stocked by the decorating company is a HUGE stress relief and I highly recommend the following companies: Bach Haus (Local 30A Home Grown & Female Owned) Bach Babe (The National Bachelorette Decorating Company I recommend for other locations outside of 30A but she is also in 30A too!) Spend the day with the home decked out with Balloons and Decorations is the way to go!

  2. Rent a CoastalMoke and go Shopping & to the beach! You can hit the streets in style with your ladies, they seat up to 6-8! Just check them out here coastalmokes.com and mention that you are with Chef Jojo!

  3. Crab Island Day! This is by far my most favorite day excursion to recommend. In a perfect world, you & your friends would leave a brunch with me with a cooler packed by yours truly, enough to make it until you get out there where the chick fila boat is cruising, and the pineapple & coconut drinks are cracking ;) Once you guys are done with a long day on the boat, you will only have enough energy to get ready and continue the party with me with either a plated dinner waiting for you to enjoy after you get ready and wine and dine looking fine, or maybe just have a good time with a gnocchi class and a glass of wine and end the day with a freshly made tiramisu!

Future Wifey Energy: Cooking Classes

Because no bach weekend is complete without a little chaos, throw in a Cooking Class. Picture rolling sushi, learning chef tips, and laughing until the timer went off. Or maybe you're feeling for some gnocchi made with your besties, and enjoy a 3 course meal prepared by the team for you with your creations! By the end, you’ll have a three-course meal and bragging rights. The bride-to-be got her “this is actually happening” moment, apron and all. (Ask me about the time the bride-to-be accidentally left her HUGE ring in the apron, which we already lugged out into the vehicle, in the rain, and of course we found it, but WHEEEWWWWWWW. God was definitely looking out for us both on that one! Talk about a close call! Needless to say I went out and got a ring holder for the classes now ;) )

Seafood Sunset: Cue the Bonfire

Buffet ON THE BEACH. Imagine buttery crab, Gulf shrimp, sausage, corn, key lime pie; or maybe you are more of a sushi bar, taco fiesta, or caribbean luau sort of gal and we love that for you too! You can enjoy this at your home or you can have your dinner, toes in the sand under the stars with the tikki torches and bonfire. Add cornhole, s’mores kits, and sunset views, and you’ve basically unlocked the bach-weekend cheat code.

Unleash your inner Bach Gogh

For a creative twist, Eat. Sip. Paint. Themed paint parties like “Mona Lisa Bride” and “Starry Night in 30A” or “Paint the Picasso Fiance” while sipping cocktails, snacking on tapas, and painting masterpieces (or, let’s be honest, the best hall art until you have photos of your future little loves on the wall!) We can talk about baby showers & first birthdays in another post ;) This is for the bride who just wants to have fun and eat good food, while enjoying the amazing views in the most beautiful homes I have ever seen! (I read they call it, “The Hamptons of the South”, which I can say checks out!)

That Chef Jojo Magic

What makes it special isn’t just the menus but it was the care behind them. Guests kept saying it was like having a five-star restaurant at home, only way more personal.
