Cancellation & refund policy
How deposits, balances, cancellations, rescheduling and refunds work for every Chef Jojo 30A booking. This policy is part of the booking agreement you sign, and it applies to bookings made from November 5, 2026.
Chef Jojo 30A is operated by Chef Jojo LLC, a private chef and event catering company serving 30A, Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City Beach and the Emerald Coast of Florida. When you book, we buy food, schedule our team, turn away other requests for your date and pull any permits your event needs. For that reason a booking is a firm commitment on both sides, and this policy explains exactly what is refundable, what can be rescheduled, and when.
1. Deposit
- A non-refundable deposit of $500 per service reserves your date ($300 per service for a corporate retreat).
- Your date is held once the deposit is paid and your booking agreement is signed.
- The deposit is not refundable for any reason, except when Chef Jojo 30A cancels your event (Section 6).
2. Balance
- The remaining balance is due 60 days before your event.
- If you book between 30 and 60 days before your event, you pay the deposit when you book, and we follow up with the remaining balance once your event details are confirmed.
- If you book within 30 days of your event, the final invoice is due within 48 hours of your deposit.
- Events less than 72 hours away are taken as inquiries. Nothing is charged until we confirm a team for your date.
3. If you cancel
- More than 30 days before your event: any balance you have paid is refunded in full. The deposit is kept.
- Within 30 days of your event: your booking is non-refundable, and no refund is given for any reason.
This applies rain or shine, and it applies to hurricanes, named storms, natural disasters and man-made disasters, even if the area is closed or an evacuation or shutdown is ordered. In those situations we offer a full reschedule instead (Section 4).
Cancellations must be made in writing to admin@chefjojo30a.com. The date we receive your email is the date of cancellation.
4. Rescheduling
Natural or man-made disaster: 100% rescheduled. If a Disaster Event prevents your event from going ahead safely on its date, we will move your booking to a new date and apply 100% of what you have paid to it, with no rebooking fee.
A Disaster Event means a hurricane or named tropical storm, another natural disaster (such as a flood, wildfire or tornado), or a man-made disaster or emergency (such as a government evacuation or shutdown order, a declared public-health emergency, an act of terrorism or a widespread utility failure) that affects the area of your event on its date.
- Choose your new date within 12 months of the original date. New dates are subject to our availability.
- The rates you booked at are honored for the same services and guest count. Added guests or services, or a move to a holiday date, are priced at the current rates.
Any other reason: $200 rebooking fee. If you would like to move your event for any reason that is not a Disaster Event, we will do our best to find a new date. A $200 rebooking fee applies, your payments move to the new date, and the new date is subject to availability.
Requests to reschedule must be made in writing to admin@chefjojo30a.com. A rescheduled event keeps these same terms, counted from the new date.
5. Travel insurance
To protect your plans, we offer optional travel insurance through our partner Faye with every booking. Coverage starts at a minimum of $1,000, so an event that costs $1,000 or less can be covered in full. Coverage, claims and exclusions are set by Faye's policy and handled directly with Faye. A policy must be bought before a storm is named, because no policy covers a storm that already has a name.
When you book, you choose one of two options:
- I would like to receive the Faye travel insurance link. We email you the link, and buying a policy is your responsibility. If you do not complete the purchase, this policy still applies in full.
- I decline travel insurance. By declining, you accept responsibility for the non-refundable deposit and for the full cost of your event within 30 days of the event date, rain or shine, including hurricanes, natural disasters and man-made disasters, and regardless of whether the area is closed.
6. If we cancel
If Chef Jojo 30A cancels your event for any reason within our control, everything you have paid, including the deposit, is refunded in full. If a Disaster Event prevents us from cooking for you, your booking is rescheduled as described in Section 4.
7. Changes to your booking
- Guest count: additional guests are added and invoiced. A lower guest count within 30 days of your event does not reduce the price, because the food has already been ordered.
- Menu: changes are welcome until seven days before your event, with a $15 change fee once your booking is confirmed.
8. Permits and beach events
- County permits and bonfire fees are non-refundable once they have been pulled or booked.
- If the county issues a burn ban, or the tide makes a fire unsafe, the bonfire is cancelled without a refund of the bonfire portion. Your food still goes ahead wherever it safely can.
9. How refunds are paid
- Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
- If you paid over time through a financing provider such as Afterpay, Affirm or Klarna, the refund is returned through that provider under its own terms.
- If you have a question about a charge, please contact us first. We will always work with you to resolve it.
10. General
- This policy forms part of your booking agreement with Chef Jojo LLC. By paying a deposit or invoice, you agree to it.
- If any part of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the rest of it still applies.
- This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
- Bookings made before November 5, 2026 keep the terms of the agreement they signed.
